By using gov.vote, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service.
The service
gov.vote provides civic communication and organizing tools. We host your website, send your emails, manage your events, process donations, and provide related features.
Your account
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old. You must provide accurate account information.
Security
You’re responsible for keeping your account secure. Use a strong password. Enable two-factor authentication.
One account per person/organization
Don’t create multiple accounts to circumvent limits or abuse the service.
Acceptable use
Do
- Use gov.vote for legitimate civic engagement
- Respect the people in your community
- Comply with applicable laws
- Keep your contact lists clean and consensual
Don’t
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk email
- Violate election laws
- Harass, threaten, or abuse anyone
- Upload malware or malicious content
- Attempt to access other users’ data
- Resell access to the platform
- Use the service for illegal purposes
Your content and data
You own your data
Content you create and data you collect belongs to you.
License to us
You grant us a license to host, display, and transmit your content as needed to provide the service.
Export
You can export your data anytime. We don’t hold it hostage.
Responsibility
You’re responsible for your content. Don’t upload anything you don’t have the right to use.
Payment
Pricing
Current pricing is listed on our pricing page. We may change prices with 30 days notice.
Billing
Paid accounts are billed monthly or annually. We use Stripe for payment processing.
Refunds
Monthly plans: no refunds for partial months. Annual plans: no refunds after 30 days.
Non-payment
We may suspend accounts with past-due balances.
Termination
By you
You can cancel anytime. Export your data before you go.
By us
We may terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or damage other users.
Effect of termination
On termination, your access ends. You have 30 days to export data before we delete it.
Disclaimers
“As is”
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
Availability
We strive for high availability but can’t guarantee the service will always be available.
Compliance
We provide compliance tools, but you’re responsible for following applicable laws. We’re not your lawyers.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, gov.vote is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify gov.vote against claims arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Brunswick, Canada. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of New Brunswick.
